ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDON—
ING A PORTION OF CUNNINGHAM STREET BETWEEN
EAST VIRGINIA STREET AND ALABAMA AVENUE,
PROVIDING THAT A GENERAL UTILITY EASEMENT
IS RETAINED, IN THE LAMAR ADDITION IN BEAU—
MONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY,'TEXAS, AS DESCRIBED
HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT that certain portion of Cunningham Street, more particularly
described as follows:
BEING a portion of Cunningham Street, a
sixty (601) foot right-of-way, between
East Virginia Street and Alabama Avenue
and.lying in the City of Beaumont, Jef-
ferson County, Texas, and more.particu-
larly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the southeast
corner of the intersection of the south
sixty (60') foot right-of-way line of
East Virginia Street and the east sixty
(60') foot right-of-way line of Cunning-
ham Street, said point being the same as
the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 2,
Lamar.Addition to the City of Beaumont;
Thence in a southerly direction along
the east right-of-way line of Cunningham
Street, the same being the westernmost
property line of Lots 1 and 24, Block 2,
Lamar Addition, and also being the wes-;
tern property line of Lots 1 and 24,
Block 3, Lamar Addition, for a distance
of.five hundred eighty (5801) feet, to a
point for corner, the same being the
southwest corner of Lot.24, Block 3, La-
mar Addition;
Thence in a westerly direction along the
north sixty (60').foot right-of-way line
of Alabama Avenue for a distance of sixty
(601) feet to a point for corner, the same
being the intersection of the north sixty
(60') foot right-of-way line of Alabama
Avenue, and the west sixty (60') foot
right-of-way line.of Cunningham Street,
and also being the woutheast corner of
Lot 13, Block 16, Lamar Addition;
Thence.in a northerly direction along the
west sixty (60') foot right-of-way line of
Cunningham Street, the same being the east
property line of Lots 12, 13, Block 16, La-
mar Addition and also the east property
line of Lots 12, 13; Block 13, Lamar Addi-
tion, for a distance of .five hundred eighty
(580') feet to a point .for corner, the same
being the southwest corner of the intersec-
tion of the west sixty (601) foot right-of-
way line of Cunningham Street and the south

sixty (601) foot right-of-way line of East
Virginia Street and also the.northeast cor-
ner of Lot 12, Block 13, Lamar Addition;
Thence, in an easterly direction along the
south sixty (60') foot right-of-way line
of East Virginia Street for a distance of
sixty (60') feet and back to the PLACE OF
BEGINNING;
be and the same is hereby vacated.and abandoned, and that title to
such property -shall revert to and become the property of the persons
entitled thereto, as provided by law; providing, however, that the
hereinabove described tract of land is expressly retained by The City
of Beaumont for general utility purposes only, it being the intent of
this ordinance to abandon said tract of land as an alley, but to re-
tain the said tract for general utility purposes only; title to such
property; other than the rights retained by The City of Beaumont here-
in, shall revert to and become the property of the persons entitled
thereto, as provided by law.
