ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE CA4VASSING THE RETURNS FOR THE OFFICER OF THE OFFICE OF COUNCILMAN FOR VOM II OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT OF THE RUN-OFF ELECTION WHICH T,MS HELD ON THE 17TH DAY OF APRIL, 1976; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, in session duly called a run-off election to be held on the 17th day of April, 1976, and the election returns of the votes cast in said election for the officer for the Office of Councilman for Ward II should be canvassed; and, W=EAS, after duly canvassing said return, the City Council finds that the votes cast in said run-off election for the officer of the Office of Councilman for Ward II were as follows: For Councilman of Ward II: Vi McGinnis . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10,130 Maurice Meyers . . . . . . . . . . . 7,450 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: 0--4-4 1 THAT the results of the said run-off City election be and the same are hereby declared to have been as herein set out, and the following named person was elected to the following office: For Councilman of Ward II: Vi McGinnis The City Council of the City of Beaumont further finds that notice of said run-off election was duly and properly given as req irped by law, and the said election was duly and regularly held and returns thereof were duly P and regularly made by the proper officials of said election and in all things according to law. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or 11-76-5.3 �4-76 Sof circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this.ordinance,_and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be inseverable.
