ORDINANCE NO. ( w
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT FOR THE FISCAL
PERIOD BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1975, AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 1976, BY TRANSFERRING THE SUM
OF $55,000.00 FROM EXCESS REVENUES TO ACCOUNT
NUMBER 79-415 FOR THE PAYMENT OF CONSULTING
FEES FOR THE STUDY OF THE RATE REQUEST OF
GULF STATES UTILITIES COMPANY; AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH
TOUCHE ROSS &COMPANY FOR THE STUDY OF'THE
APPLICATION FOR RATE INCREASE BY GULF STATES
UTILITIES COMPANY
WHEREAS, Gulf States Utilities. Company has filed an
application for a general rate increase with the City of
Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to retain the firm
of Touche Ross & Company to study said application; and,
WHEREAS, Gulf States Utilities Company has agreed to

reimburse the City up to $55,000.00 for the cost of said study;
NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the budget of the City of Beaumont for the fiscal
period beginning October 1, 1975, and ending September 30, 1976,
be, and the same is hereby, amended, by transferring $55,000.00
from Excess Revenues to Account 79-415 for the payment of con-
sulting fees in the study of the application of.rate increase
by Gulf States Utilities Company.
Section 2.
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to enter into an agreement with Touche Ross & Company for an
analysis of the requested rate increase by Gulf States'Utili-
ties Company.
