ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADOPTION OF.THE 1975
EDITION OF THE STANDARD PLUMBING CODE WITH A-
MENDMENTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PRO-
VIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Chapter 28 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beau-
mont is hereby amended to amend Section 28-1 to read as follows:
Sec. 28-1. Plumbing Code - Adopted..
The 1975 Edition of the Standard Plumbing Code
and all amendments thereto, is hereby adopted
and declared operative.as the, Plumbing -Code of
the City of Beaumont, save and except the fol-
lowing portions that are herein d.el�ed by this
Code of Ordinances:
(a) Section 106.3,.dealing with permit fees;
(b) Section 506.3;
(c) "From Table 505, Pages 5-8 through 5-15,
delete steel pipe black and galvanized
No. A12055, for use in drains, wastes and
vents on Page 5-12,; delete bituminized
sewer pipe and fittings, bituminized per-
forated pipe and fittings, bituminized
laminated fiber pipe, and b,ituminized
laminated fiber perforated pipe for all
uses as shown on Page 5-8; -
(d) Omit Paragraph (b) from Section 1212.1 on
Page 12-9;
(e) From Paragraph 1602.4(f) second paragraph,
omit the word -'automatically'.
Section 2.
That Chapter 28, Section 28-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Beaumont is hereby amended. to read as follows:
Sec. 28-2. Same _ Fees.
Any person desiring a' plumbing,permit shall at
the time of filing an application therefor,:::pay
to the plumbing inspector a fee as required in
this section. The fees to be paid for permits
shall be as follows:'

Fee for replacement of fixtures and repairs to
be the same as new work. The minimum fees for
any plumbing permit shall be Five and N0/100
($5.00) Dollars.
Section 3.
That Chapter 28, Section 28-3 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Beaumont is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 28-3. Same - Modifications, deletions
and amendments.
Section 104.3 on Page 1-3 is amended by adding
Paragraph (b) to read`"Riser diagram on all
buildings other than single or two-family resi-
dences, shall be submitted to the permit office
showing a complete lay -out on all piping and
pipe size for drain, waste and vents before per-
mits can be issued.'
Paragraph 1101 in Chapter XI is amended to read
that no condensate drain from air -conditioner
can be installed in --a," return air chase or com-
partment or concealed in wall., All such drains
are to be indirect.
The Standard Plumbing Code is amended to provide
that the name of the plumber and the master
plumber's license number are to be displayed on
the job -site or the truck by legible signing two
inches (2") minimum in height. Section 1212.1 is
hereby amended to provide that underground inex-
cessible water -distribution -piping under a slab
shall be copper water tube= minimum type `LI' or
stainless steel 194 tubing with no solder joints
under slab.

Section 111.1 is amended to provide (a) if
any person commences in the work on a build-
ing or structure before obtaining the neces-
sary permit from the applicable governing
body, he shall be subject to a penalty equal
to twice the permit fee for the job. Section
915.1 in Chapter VIII substitute the word
'shall' for the word 'may' as it provides to
the installation of floor drains in all pub-
lic toilet rooms or other public uses.
Section. 4.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance or the application of same to a particular set of
persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid,
such invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end the provisions of this ordinance are de-
clared to be severable.
Section 5.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are.hereby repealed.
