ORDINANCE NO.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE MICRO=
FILMING OF PUBLIC OFFICIAL RECORDS OF THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT; PROVIDING FOR INDEXES; PROVIDING
STANDARDS FOR QUALITY; PROVIDING FOR CERTIFICA-
TION OF CORRECTNESS; PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC FREE
ACCESS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVID-
ING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to microfilm all offi-
"cial records of the City .of Beaumont, which shall include but not be
limited to deeds, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, easements, leases,
liens, and franchises. The City Clerk shall properly index said micro-
film records, and said microfilm records shall meet the requirements of
the United States of America Standards Institute for archival quality,
density, resolution, and definition. The City Clerk or his designee
shall be responsible to check and certify that each microfilm record is
a true and correct duplication of the original public record. The pub-
lic shall have access to the information contained in the microfilmed
public records as provided by law.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of
this ordinance or the application of same to a particular set of persons
or circumstancesshould for any reason be,,,,.held to be invalid, such inva-
lidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance,
and to such end the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
