ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND.ABANDONING
A TWENTY FOOT (20') BY TWO HUNDRED.FIFTY FOOT
(250') ALLEY IN THE PRAIRIE ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, PRO-
VIDING THAT A GENERAL UTILITY EASEMENT IS
RETAINED.
BE IT ORDAINED.BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT that certain twenty foot (20') by two hundred fifty foot
(2501) alley described as follows:
BEING a twenty foot (20') by two hundred fifty
foot (2501) alley lying within the block bounded
by Cartwright Street, Atlanta Avenue, Roberts
Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, said alley abut-
ting Lots One through Ten (1-10) of Block 3 of
the Prairie Addition to the .City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, as per map or plat of
said Addition filed of Record.in the Deed Records
of Jefferson County, Texas;
be and the same is hereby vacated and abandoned,and that title
to such property shall revert to and become the property of
the persons entitled thereto, as provided by law; providing,
however, that the hereinabove described tract of land is ex-
pressly retained by the City of Beaumont for general utility
purposes only, it being the intent of this Ordinance to abandon
said tract of land as an alley but to retain the said tract
for general utility purposes only; title to such property,
other than the rights retained by the City of Beaumont herein,
shall revert to and become the property of -the persons entitled
thereto, as provided by law.
