ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 40A OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
BY AMENDING SECTION 40A -3(2)(C) TO PROVIDE FOR
PAYMENT BY THE CITY FOR REQUIRED OVERSIZE WATER
LINES; PROVIDING THAT THIS PAYMENT SHALL BE 1.5
TIMES THE DIFFERENCE IN THE COST OF MATERIALS;
PROVIDING THAT PAYMENT FOR SAID WATER LINE SHALL
BE ONLY FOR WATER LINES MORE THAN SIX INCHES (6")
BUT LESS THAN SIXTEEN INCHES (16") IN SIZE; PRO-
VIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 'l.
Chapter 40A of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont
is hereby amended by enacting a new Section 40A -3(2)(c) repealing old
Section 40A -3(2)(c), said section to read as follows:
Section 40A -3(2)(c): Should the City require
water line extensions or interior water lines
larger in size than required for the develop-
ment so long as said water lines are between
the sizes of 6" and 16"..inclusive, the City
shal-1 pay 1.5 times the difference in cost of
materials for said water lines. Also, due al-
lowance shall be made to the owner of the de-
velopment for intersections and alleys crossed,
outside the development.
Should the City require .sewer line extensions
or interior sewers larger in size than required
for the development, the.City shall pay for that
portion of material cost over and above such re-
quirements. Also, due allowance shall be made
to the owner of.the development for intersections
and alleys crossed, outside the development.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of
this ordinance or the application of same to a particular set of persons ';
or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such inva-
lidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance,
and to such end the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances.in conflict herewith

are hereby repealed.
