A N 0 R D I N A N CE, granting jthe
Houston , Beammont and -New Orleans Railroad Company, its sue --
censors or assigns, a right Of way over certain streets, aven-
ues and r alleys 'in the City of Beaumont.

BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Cou,cil of the City of
Beaumont:
SECT, I. That the Houston, Beaumont and New Orleans Railroad
Company, its successors or assigns, is hereby authorized and
empowered to construct, equip, operate and maintain a line of
rd 1way over, upon and across the following named streets, ave
ues and alleys, in the Cityr of Beaumont, Jdfferson County,Tex.
as indicated on Nelson & White's map of the City- of Bea;.mont,
as follows; -
One track from -near the - - - j
North-West corner of Block NO 36, in the Cartwright Addition
to the intersection of Goliad Street and Forsyth Street, in-
cluding the right to cross with one track all intervening stye
avenues and alleys by vPh atever name known.
One track on Goliad street from Forsyth street to
the Southern terminus of Goliad Street, at the South city lim-
its, including the right to, cross all intervening streets,
avenues and aMoys by whatever name known.
OnUrack on Franklin Street from its Western ter
-ini.nues at -the-Western city limits ( same being on the west line
of the Cartwright Addition) to the Msternterminus: of Frank-
lin St. on or near the Neches River, .Including the -right to
cross all intervening streets, avenues and alley.s.by,whatever
name known.
SECTS 'II. ' That said Company, i-ts successors or assigns takes
the rights and franchises herein granted, subject to the pro-"
visions of the Charter of the City.of Beaumont, and any amend-
ments �ilich maV be made thereto, 'and to the Ordinances of said

SECT.III.
The rights
and privileges herein
are granted to
said Company, its successors or assigns, upon condition that

construct, complete, equip'and have in running order, and Ahall
theregfter continuously maintain- and operate, a first class
steam railroad, from the City. of -Beaumont to the City of Hous-
ton -j. Texas.
if -said railroad shall not be so constructed, com-
pleted and'equipped and in running order within the said two
years, then said rights and privileges shall immediately cease
and determine, and be forfeited.
SECT. IV. This Ordinance shall be in force and take effect
from and after its passage.
