ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
TEXAS, BY AMENDING SECTION 11-29(44) TO INCREASE
SOME OF THE FEES, AND SECTION 11-35(b) TO ADOPT
THE 1975 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE; PROVIDING
FOR REPEAL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY.THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
1.
That Chapter 11 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont
be amended by changing Section 11-29(4) to read as follows:
"Section 11-29(4): PERMIT FEES:
(a) First meter from each service -------------------------------- $5.00
(b) Each additional meter--------------------------------------- 1.50
(c) Service and up to ten outlets --------- _________________ 4.00
(d) Each additional outlet --------------------------------------- .15
(e) Sockets, drop and tubes ------__----- ---------------------------------------- .10
(f) Bells, buzzers, and chimes----------------------------------- .15
(g) Range and water heater, each--- -------------------------------- 1.00
(h) Welding machine outlet -------------------------------------- .50

Where fees are not set up herein, the Chief Electrical Inspector
shall set fees that are consistant with the fees named hereinbefore."

Chapter 11 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont is
hereby amended by amending Section 11-35(b) to read as follows:
"Section 11-35. Standards -Installation.
(b) Conformity of electrical installations with the applicable
standards set forth in the National Electrical Code shall
be prima facie evidence that such installations are reason-
ably safe to persons and property; provided that the provi-
sions of this chapter shall prevail over the National Elec-
trical Code in case of conflicting provisions. The National
Electrical Code. of 1975, adopted by the National Fire Pro-
tection Association and all amendments thereof, is hereby
adopted, and the same is hereby made a part of this chapter
as fully and to the extent as if copies herein in full.
One copy of such code has been and now is filed in the of-
fice of the City Clerk."

That all ordinances.and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.

That if any section, subsection,' sentence, clause or phrase of
this ordinance or the application of same to a particular set of persons
or circumstances should for any reason be held to be.invalid, such inva-
lidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance,
and to such end the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be sev-
erable.
5.
The effective date of this ordinance shall be July 1, 1975.
