ORDINANCE NO.' -%
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 3-7 PROHIBITING
THE SALE OR DELIVERY OF ANY LIQUOR AT CERTAIN
TIMES AND ON CERTAIN DAYS; PROVIDING FOR SEV-
ERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL; AND PROVIDING
A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
1.
Chapter 3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont is
hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section 3-7 to read as follows:
Section 3-7: It shall be unlawful for holders
of package store permits as provided in the
Texas Liquor Control Act to sell or deliver
any liquor: ('a) between 8:00 P. M. of any day
and 10:00 A. M. of the following day; (b) on
Sunday; (c) on New Year's Day, (d) on July 4th;
(e) on Labor Day; (f) on Thanksgiving Day; (g)
on Christmas Day.
2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of
this ordinance or the application of same to a particular set of persons
or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such inva-
lidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this ordinance,
and to such end the provisionsof this ordinance are declared to be sever-
able.
3.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.

That any person who violates any provision of this ordinance
shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the
Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.

by the City Council of the City of Beaumont on April 1,
1975. This ordinance changes the closing time of Liquor
Stores within the City Limits of Beaumont to 8:00 P.M. -
except on certain holidays and Sundays.

Dear Package Store Owner:
On Tuesday, April 1, 1975, the City Council of the City of
Beaumont passed an Ordinance requiring owners of package store
permits within the City limits of the City of Beaumont to close
at 8:00 p.m., as well as the following days:
Sunday
New Year's Day
July 4th
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
The Ordinance will become effective Wednesday,.April 9, 1975;
therefore, you should plan to close at 8:00 p.m., on that day.
