BE IT 01MA11ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THD4 CITY OF Bj ATNOTTT; Section 1.. The office of sewer and plumbing inspector of the City of Beaumont is hereby created. Such office shall Yee filled by appointment by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The sewer and plumbing inspector shall receive such compensation f or his services as the City Council may from time to time designate and same may be increased a&r the -:e,nure of his office but_.not_ diminished.- The iminished. The seiner arra plumbing inspector shbll be a person prop er7.3J qualified f or ' the duties of his office. Section 2. The sewer and plumbing inspector shall enter into a bond payable to the Mayor of the City of Beaumont and his successors in office 7i th two or more good and sufficient sureties. or with some bond company as surety in the sum of 41,000.00, said bond to be approved by the City Qouncil, con- ditioned that the said sewer and plumbing inspector shall pay to the City of Beaumont alI monies collected .by him for its use and benefit as required by the ordinances of theCity of Beau- mont, and shall perform all the duties of the office, Section 3. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ,OF THE CITY.OF BEAUMONT. Section 1, r' The office, 'of 'sewer and plumbing inspector of the Citi of Beaumont is hereby created. It shall be the.duty of the sewer and plumbing inspector to pass on and all plans submitted for any plumbinggxxexamWas drainage -work., to keep a daily r cord of his work, including all notices and applications re. ceived,� violation of any of the rules, regulations or ordinances of the and city relative to plumbing mx drainage••*ae He shall make reports to the city council.as often as they may demand it. He shall inspect all houses in course of erection,.,alteration or-repair,'as often as maybe necessary; I at_d shall see that all 'worl for pluMbin g drainage and ventilation is done in accordance with the ordinances, rules and regulations for same. The sewQr and pluritbing inspaector will inspect all sewer connections and external.house drains within 5 hours after notification from the masher plumber, Sundays and holidays excepted, and all haste ai,d vent pipes and other"inside plwnbing within 24 hours after notification, Sundays and.holidays excepted. bhould the sewer:and:,Plumbing inspector fail to comply with.the above requirements, the plumber doing the work shall file with the ?Jayor inxaa.*ttag a Written statement that the inspection was not made within the above mentioned time. Inopection fees shall be one ($1.00) Oollar per fixture, one .y f>'($1,00) dollar for water connection, and one ($1..00) for sewer connection. ,f The sewer and plumbing inspector shall also perform such other services as may be required,,of him by the City Council. 'It shall be the' -duty of every plumber to deposit with the sewer and plumbing inspector the amount to cover the cost of inspection and unless this be done the sewr and plumbing inspector shall refuse to inspect said work. Section 4: 'The . s ewer and plumbing inspec:t or,, shall have ' thepower _ .and it. is his duty. to' .inspect all ;s.eierage., plumbing and"drainage laid in the City of Beaumont and when said sewerage, plumbing or drainage shall 'be found by him •not to have,, been laid or constructed _____,acc-or_ding_t_o_ the_ _.ordinances_ of the City, -of Beaumont,_ he shall re- fuse to approve same, and unless said work is laid or constructed in accordance with the-ordinanoes.of the. City of Beaumont regulating such .hs shall file complaint -before the City Attorney .against the person, firm or corporation so, refusing'to do. Section 5. The said sewer and lambing inspector shall charge the'• sum of � els a fee for i 'specting work d®. by every licensed plumb-- •er or drain -Mayer in the City of Beaumont. Before the said in" spector shall be required to make an inspection.,as provided above,,, the person, firm or corporation requesting said inspection shall,' deposit_,with- the:-said'--ins,peetor,-such--sum-. as; -the said inspector -shall: require, -to eover the cost of inspection.
