HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 74-740- 7/�- rN ORDINANCE NO. - ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION 42-16.1 PROVIDING FOR A LOCAL RETAIL DISTRICT IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT; AND PROVIDING FOR REGULATIONS IN SAID DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: S'e'ctioii 'l. That Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beau- mont be amended by adding thereto a new Section 42-16.1 to read as fol- lows: 42-16.1: L -R--1 Local Retail District Regulations. (A) Use.regulations. A building or premises shall be used only for the purposes following: I. 'RESIDENTIAL (a) Single family dwelling units. (b) Two family and multiple -dwelling units. II. GENERAL MERCHANDISE, RETAIL' 'S'AL-ES' ONLY (a) Antique Shop (b) Art Gallery (c) Bakery (d) Bird and Pet Shop (e) Book or Stationery Store (f) Candy or Tobacco Store (g) Camera Shop (h) Department Store or Variety Shop (i) Drugstore (j) Florist (k) Grocery Store (1) Hardware, Medical Equipment, Sporting Goods, or Toy Store (m) Liquor: -Package Store (n) Meat Market (o) Nursery, Plants, and Trees (p) Wearing Apparel III. SERVICES (a) B ank (b) Barber and Beauty Shop (c) Car Wash (d) Church (e) Cleaning and Pressing Shop (f) Custom work or the making of such articles to be sold on the premises. (g) Full Service Filling Station (h) Letter and Mimeograph Shop (i) Office Building (j) Outpatient Medical, Dental, Chiropractic, and Osteopathic Clinics (k) Photographer's or Artist's Studio (1) Restaurant (all normal services allowed) (m) Seamstress, Dressmaker, -or Tailor Shop (n) Studio for dance, music, drama, health, massage, and reducing (o) Veterinary Clinic IV. RECREATION (a) Bowling Alley (b) Motion Picture Theater V. MISCELLANEOUS (a) Parking facility in conjunction with Local Retail uses and in compliance with off-street parking regulations and policies. (B) AREA REGULATIONS Yards - Front, side and rear yards shall be required in accordance with the following regulations: (1) Front Yard: Commercial uses: 15' (fifteen feet of depth) Residential uses: 25' (twenty-five feet of depth) (2) Side Yard: Commercial uses: No requirement Residential uses: 5' (five feet) All corner lots shall have a minimum yard re- quirement of 15' (fifteen feet of width) on side yards abutting streets. (3) Rear Yard: Commercial uses: 10' (ten feet of depth) Residential uses: 25' (twenty-five feet of depth) (4) Intensity of Use Minimum lot areas shall be required for the various allowed used in accordance with the following regulations.
