AN ORD I N A N C E.
Entitled an ordinance creating the office
of building inspector of the City of Beau-
mont, prescribing his duties, method of
appointment and fixing his bond.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THF CITY OF BraUMO:\1T: - --
Sect ion 1.
That the office of building inspector of the City
of Beaumont is hereby created.
Section 2-•
It shall be the duties of said officer to see that
all requirements prescribed by the building ordinances are fully -
complied with, and carried out.
Section 3.
He shall be subject to the direction of the City Coun-
cil anc1: shall A and -perform- such.oth-er' and further service as the
City Council may direct.
Section 4.
He shall be appointed as other appointive officers are
though the City Council may designate some.officer of the City to do
such work.
Before entering upon the duties of said office, said
building inspector shall take the oath of office prescribed by the
Constitution and l ws of the State of Texas, and also shall give bond
with two or more good and sufficient sureties or with some surety
bonding company in such amount as the City Council may -direct, same
to be approved by the City Council, conditioned that he will truly
and faithfully perform the duties incumbent upon him as such officer
according to the Condatution and laws of the State of Texas and
Charter and Ordinances ,of the 'Gity of Beaumont.
Section 5.

his term of office but may be increased.
Section 6.
All laws or parts of laws in conflict with this
ordinance are hely repealed in so far and so far only as they
shall conflict.
Section 7.
This ordinance shall take effedt. and be in full .force
from and after its passage, approval by the mayor and lawful publication.
