AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT PRESCRIBING
RATES AND CHARGES FOR CABLEVISION SERVICES FURNISHED
BY BEAUMONT CABLEVISION, INC., FIXING THE EFFECTIVE
DATES OF RATE INCREASES PRESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANACES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
WHEREAS, Beaumont Cablevision, Inc. has appeared
before the City Council and has shown that the rates and
charges for local cable television services heretofore
prescribed have proved insufficient to afford said Company a
fair return on the fair value of its property devoted to
furnishing cable television service in the Beaumont area;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council having heard and fully con-
sidered the evidence adduced at such hearing, recognizes
that the rates and charges now being charged by Beaumont
Cablevision, Inc. should be increased; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
Beaumont Cablevision, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as
"Company"), is hereby authorized to place in effect the
following schedule of rates and charges within the limits of
the City of Beaumont and any other area within it's jurisdiction
to become effective immediately upon passage of this Ordinance:

1) Company may, in its discretion, allow a discount
to subscribers for prompt or prepayment of charges and may
establish special rates from time to time for promotional
purposes, provided, however, that such special rates shall
not exceed those set out herein and are otherwise in
compliance with the City Ordinance of the City of Beaumont,
Texas.

Section 2.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
Section 3.
Nothing contained in this ordinance shall be con-
strued now or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any
manner, the right and power of the city under the law to
regulate the rates and charges of Beaumont Cablevision,
Inc. within the City of Beaumont, Texas.
