ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 32 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT BY A-
MENDING SECTION 32-8(5); PROVIDING A DECREASED
MINIMUM SEWER RATE FOR MULTIPLE DWELLING UNITS;
AMENDING SECTION 32-8(2)(c) TO PROVIDE A CHARGE
TO INDUSTRIAL USERS BASED ON METER FLOW; REPEAL-
ING SECTION 32-8(6) AND SECTION 32-10; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDNG FOR SEVERA-
BILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Se'ctiori 1.
Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont,
Texas, and Section 32-8(5) are hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 32-8(5): Where a building containing
more than one dwelling unit is served by a sin-
gle meter, or where there is not a separate water
meter for each dwelling unit, each unit shall be
charged a minimum base charge of $1.25 and sewer
service shall be billed from 0 gallons to maximum
monthly usage as provided for in Section 32-8(1)
of this ordinance."

Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont,
Texas, and Section 32-8(2)(c) is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 32-8(2)(c): Charges t' -'o industrial users
in accordance with established rates may be made
on the amount of metered return flow as measured
by a meter approved by the Water Utilities Depart-
ment and furnished and installed at the customer's
expense."
Section 3.
Articles 32-8(6) and 32-10 are hereby repealed.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall become effective May 1, 1974.
Section 'S .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
Section 6.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance or the application of same to a particular person,

or to a particular set of circumstances, should for any reason be held
invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining portions
of this ordinance and to such end the various portions and provisions
of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
