ORDINANCE NO. ' 74-25.
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 32 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT BY A-
MENDING SECTION 32-8(1) TO PROVIDE NEW RATES FOR
CERTAIN SEWER USAGE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE-
WITH; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont,
Texas, and Section 32-8 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 32-8: Service Rates, Rules arid' Regula-
tions - Inside City imits.
The following rates, rules and regulations are
hereby established and shall be enforced and col-
lected by the City Council for sewer service fur-
nished within the corporate limits of the City:
(1) The following metered rates based upon water
measured through meters approved by the Water Works
Department shall be effective: there shall be a
minimum charge to all persons who have a sewer
connection of $1.25. A charge of $.28 per 1,000
gallons of water usage shall be made thereafter
from 0 gallons to maximum monthly usage."
S'e'ction 2.
This ordinance shall become effective May 1, 1974.
'Sectiori 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
Section 4.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase
of this ordinance or the application of same to a particular person,
or to a particular set of circumstances, should for any reason be
held invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining
portions of this ordinance, and to such end of the various portions
and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
