ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING
THE SOUTH THIRTY-FOUR FEET (34') OF CANAL
STREET IN THE.CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON
COUNTY, TEXAS, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN, AND THE
RETENTION OF SAME AS A GENERAL UTILITIES EASE-
MENT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the following described portion of Canal Street:
BEING the south thirty-four (34') feet of Canal
Street, said south end of Canal Street being
further identified by its abutments to the fol-
lowing properties: on the west and south sides.
it is abutted by Block C-5, Tract 52-G of the
David Brown Survey and it is abutted on the east
side by Block 4, Lot 32 of the West End Addition,
all in The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas;
be, and the same is hereby, vacated and abandoned, and that title
to such property shall revert to and become the property of the
persons entitled thereto, as provided by law; PROVIDING, it is the
intention of the City to abandon only the street right-of-way of
the hereinabove described property, and it is further the intentiaz
of the City Council to retain said property as a general utilities
easement; and the City of Beaumont hereby relinquishes any and all
rights, title and interest it had or may have in and to such street
EXCEPT the right to use the hereinabove described property as a gen-
eral utilities easement.
