ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-19(2)
AND 12-19(3) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF BEAU
MONT, TEXAS, BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS
IN GRADE II AND GRADE III IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
OF THE CITY, AND REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDI-
NANCES; AND PROVIDING SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF_.BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Sectiori 1..
Section 12-19C2) and 12-19C3) of the Code of Or of
Beaumont, Texas, are hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 12-19(2). Grade II. There shall be fifty-
one (51) positions in Grade II, said positions to in-
clude Sergeants. The base pay of every officer in
this grade shall be $777.00 per month.
Section 12-19 (3). Grade III. There shall be ten
(10) positions in Grade III, said positions to in-
clude Police Lieutenants,. The base pay of every
officer in this grade shall be $857.00."
Sec'tio'n '2
All ordinances or parts of ordinances' in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of
such conflict.
Section 3.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of
this ordinance or application of same to a particular set of persons
or circumstances shall, for any reason be found to be invalid, such
invalidity shall in no wise affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of
this ordinance are declared to be severable.
