ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 37 SECTION
37-111 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS, TO ADD,.A NEW SECTION 37 111(a)
(14), MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO STOP, STAND OR PARK
A VEHICLE ADJACENT TO A CURB DESIGNATED AS A NO -
PARKING ZONE BY THE PAINY OF THE FACE OF THE
CURB WITH RED PAINT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Chapter 37, Section 37-11.1(a) is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Section 37-111(a): Prohibi'te'd 'at' Certain Places,
No Signs Required, Moving Vehicle's erein.
(a) No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle
except when necessary to avoid conflict with other
traffic or in compliance with law or the directions
of a police officer or traffic -control device, in
any ofy;the following places:
(1) On a sidewalk or sidewalk area.
(2) In front of a public or private driveway.
(3) Within an intersection.
(4) Within fifteen feet of a fire hydrant.
(5) On a crosswalk.
(6) Within twenty feet of a crosswalk at an
intersection.
(7) Within thirty feet upon the approach to any
flashing beacon, stop sign, or traffic -control
signal located at the side of a roadway.
(8) Within fifty feet of the nearest rail or rail-
road crossing.
(9) Within twenty feet of the driveway entrance to
any fire station and on the side of a street
opposite the entrance to any fire station with-
in seventy-five feet of such entrance when pro-
perly signposted.
(10) Alongside or opposite any street excavation or
obstruction.when stopping, standing,'or parking
would obstruct traffic.
(11) On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or
parked at the edge or curb of a street.
(12) Upon any bridge or other elevated structure
upon a highway or within a highway tunnel.

C13) At any place where official signs prohibited
stopping.
C14) Adjacent to any curb officially designated
as a no -parking zone by the painting of the
face of the curb with red paint.
Section 2.
If any portion of provision of this ordinance is held in-
valid'or unconstitutional, the validity of the remaining provisions
shall not be affected thereby and for this purpose, the City
Council of the City of Beaumont declares this ordinance to be
severable.

Any person violating the provisions of this Section shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punsihed in accordance
with Section 1-8 of this Code.
