AND. INTER- EST SHALL ACCRUE.... WHEREAS, The City of Beaumont, by Ordinance passed on the 4th day -of September, A. D..1951, levied for municipal pur- 0oses only an ad valorem tax of One Dollar and Sixty -Four Cents 1.64) on each One Hundred'($100.00) Dollars worth of property located within the present city limits,of The City of Beaumont made taxable by law; and, WHEREAS, there has been a demand for the purpose of paying said_taxes in installments; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF AEAUMONT, TEXAS: - Section 1. That the ad valorem taxes levied for the year 1951 for municipal purposes may be paid at the option of the taxpayer in installments as follows: One half (1/2) on or before December 31, 1951; One half (1/2) on or before May 31, 1952. Section 2. If the taxpayer makes the installment payment on or be- fore the due dates mentioned in Section 1 of this Ordinance, no charge for interest or penalty shall be made by the Tax Collector. If the first installment payment is not paid prior to December 31, 1951, the full amount of the tax shall become due and payable on or before January 31, 1952. If the second installment is not paid on or before the 31st day of May, 1952, the unpaid balance shall be considered delinquent as of February 10 1952, and penalty and interest as provided by law will be charged from said date.
