AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING
THE WORK OF IMPROVINGCHERRY DRIVE WEST OF
BEARD STREET IN KOHLER PLACE SECOND ADDITION IN
THE CITY OF AEAUMONT, TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the work of improving the following described street in
The City of Beaumont, Texas, to wit:
Construction of a six , ( 611) inch compacted sand -
shell base twenty (201) feet in width with double
penetration surface on Cherry Drive west of Beard
Street in Kohler .Place Second Addition,
has been completed by the developers of Kohler Place Second
Addition, and the City Engineer of The City of Beaumont, having
examined said work and found that the sand -shell base has been
placed on this street and as soon as the heavy hauling, occas-
ioned by building construction, has been completed, the:iCity
will place the double prentration surfacing, and that said work
has been completed in a proper and highly satisfactory manner
and in full accordance with the minimum standard requirements
for residential type streets in The City of Beaumont, and the
said City Engineer having approved and recommended the acceptance
of such work by the City Council of The City of Beaumont and the
assumption by The City of Beaumont of the obligation of mainte-
nance of said street within the limits designated, according to
the standards prescribed for maintenance of other dedicated
streets in The City of Beaumont, and said work and improvements
having been examined and found by the Mayor and the City Council
of The City of Beaumont to have been performed and completed in
full compliance with the minimum standard requirements of The
City of Beaumont for such construction, said improvements are
hereby accepted and received by said City Council of The City of
Beaumont, and the City Council, acting for The City of Beaumont,
hereby assumes the obligation of maintaining said street within
the limits designated according to the standards prescribed
for maintenance of other dedicated streets in The City of Beau-
mont.
PASSED by the City Council this 25th day of March, A. D.
1952.

Gentlemen:
The developers of Kohler Place 2nd Addition deposited with
the City of Beaumont on November 21, 1951, the funds necessary for
the construction of a six inch compacted sand -shell base twenty feet
in width with double penetration surface (the City's Specifications
for Residential Type Streets) on Cherry Drive west of Beard Street.
The sand -shell base has been placed on this street and as
soon as the heavy hauling, occasioned by building construction, has
been completed the City will place the double penetration surfacing.
I have examined this work, accompanied by Mr. Harvey Trahan,
and it is my recommendation that the City accept this street for
permanent maintenance.
