EASON TO PURCHASE CERTAIN PROPERTY AND AUTHOR- IZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER .QUITCLAIMS DEED TO PURCHASER FOR SAME. WHEREAS, on the 30th day of December, A. D. 1935, The City of Beaumont, Plaintiff, recovered a tax judgment in Cause No. 244.114 in the District Court of Jefferson County, Texas, against E. C.. Deane,'together with the.foreclosure of a tax lien upon the following described tracts of land, to wit: Tract No. 1: Being Lot Nine (9) in Block Three of the Carver Addition to The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per map or plat of said Addition of record in the office of County Clerk, and deed of record Volume 77, page 256 of Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas. Tract No. 2: 'Begin at the northeast corner of a certain three acre tract deeded by G. W. Cox to Emma Ratcliff;.thence south 70 yards to corner; thence west 70 yards,to,corner; thence north 70 yards.to corner; thence east 70 yards to corner, the place of beginning, and c)ontaining one acre of land, same being out of the A. Williams Survey in Jefferson County, Texas, being the same tract conveyed to E. C.: Deane, Volume 40, page 204 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, and known on the Assessors and Collector t s, records of The City of Beaumont as Tract 29, Plat D-1, of the A. Williams Survey; and, WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of June, A. D. 1936, The City of Beaumont purchased said above described property at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and, WHEREAS, on the 10th day of July, A. D. 1936, W. W. Richardson, Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto The City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above described property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and, WHEREAS, on the 15th.day of April, A. D. 1952, Winston G. Eason offered to purchase all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate, and demand of The City of Beaumont in the above described property for the sum of Two Hundred Thirteen Dollars and Eight Cents ($213.0$); and, WHEREAS,. said Winston G. Eason paid to The City of Beau- mont the sum of Two Hundred Thirteen Dollars,and.Eight Cents ($213.0$) in connection with said offer -to purchase the above described property; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such sale.is for the best interest of The City of Beaumont and should be consummated; NOWT, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: That the aforesaid offer to purchase the above described property is hereby accepted, and the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of'The City of Beau- mont a quitclaim deed conveying unto Winston G. Eason all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of The City of Beaumont in the above described property derived by reason of said Sheriffts deed. 1952.
