AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATES TO BE
CHARGED BY GULF STATES UTILITIES COMPANY IN
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, Gulf States Utilities Company filed a re-
quest for a new schedule of rates for The City of Beaumont,
which was presented to the City Council and approved by said
City Council at a special meeting on the 3rd day of April,
1952;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Gulf States Utilities Company is hereby authorized to
place into effect on its first billing date after May 1, 1952s
the schedule of rates filed with the City Clerk of The City
of Beaumont on April 2, 1952, and identified by the City
Clerkts certificate to the effect that the rate schedules
filed with him are the ones which were approved by the City
Council of The City of Beaumont at a special meeting on April
3, 1952;
Section 2.
That nothing in this ordinance contained shall be construed
as in any manner now or hereafter limiting or modifying the
right and power of the City Council under the law to regulate
the rates charged by Gulf States Utilities Company for its
service within The City of Beaumont,
