AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING
OF THE ALLEY RUNNING THROUGH BLOCK THIRTY-SIX (36)
OF THE COLUMBUS CARTWRIGHT SUBDIVISION NO. 1 TO
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the owners of the property abutting the alley
in Block Thirty-six (36) of the Columbus Cartwright Subdivision
No. 1 to The City of Beaumont, Texas, have requested that said
alley be vacated and closed; and
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the City
Planning Commission for study, investigation and recommendation
to the City Council as to whether such proposal should be approved,
and the City Planning Commission has thoroughly studied and in-
vestigated said proposal and recommended to the City Council that
the approval of the proposal would be to the best interest and
benefit of the public, and that said proposal should, therefore,
be approved; and
WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of The City of Beau-
mont and benefit to the public that the above-mentioned alley be
vacated and closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the alley -running through Block Thirty-six (36) of the Colum-
bus Cartwright Subdivision No. 1 to The City of Beaumont, Texas,
be, and the same is hereby, authorized to be vacated and closed,
and that the title to said vacated and closed alley shall revert to
and become the property of the parties entitled thereto, as pro-
vided by law.
PASSED by the City Council this 22nd day of May, A.D. 1951.

We,'the undersigned, being the sole owners of all the property located in
Block 36 , of -the Columbus Cartwright Subdivision No. 1 to the City of
Beaumont, hereby respectfully petition that the alley located in Block __36,
Columbus Cartwright Subdivision No. 1 be closed in the manner as permitted by the
statutes of the State of Texas, and that such alley become the absolute property
of the owners of the land in said block adjacent and abutting on such alley.
