HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 41-WAN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF PACIFIC AVENUE IN SUN- SET TERRACE ADDITION.TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT * TEXAS._ . WHEREAS, the owners of property abutting Pacific Avenue in Sunset Terrace Addition to The City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, have requested that said Avenue be vacated and closed; and, WHEREAS, said request has been referred to the City Plan- ning Commission for study, investigation and recommendation to the City Council as to whether such proposal should be approved, and the City Planning Commission has thoroughly studied and in- vestigated said proposal and recommended to the City Council that the approval of the proposal would be to the best interest and benefit of the public, and that said proposal should, there- fore, be approved; and, WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the City of Beaumont and benefit to the public that the, above-mentioned Avenue be va- cated and closed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT# TEXAS: That Pacific Avenue in Sunset Terrace Addition to The City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby, authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title to said vacated and closed Avenue shall revert to and become the property of the parties entitled thereto, as provided by law. Clyde Blacks City Engineer Subject:Pacific Avenue Closing COMMENT: At a special meeting of the City Planning Commission held March 21, motion was made by Mr. Stone and seconded by Mr. C. E. Holland that the Sunset Terrace Addition to the City of Beaumont be placed back on an acreage basis thereby eliminating Pacific Avenue.
