AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PROPER
OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF.BEAUMONT TO EXECUTE FOR
AND ON BEHALF.OF SAID CITY A DEED OF DEDICATION,
DEDICATING CERTAIN PROPERTY FOR THE_OPENING OF
FANNIN. STREET FROM FOURTH. STREET. TO ELEVENTH
STREET, TO BE USED BY THE GENERAL.PUBLIC FOR
STREET PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, under its street improvement and opening program,
The City of Beaumont is opening Fannin Street from Fourth Street
to Eleventh Street; and,
WHEREAS, the City owns certain property along the right of
way being acquired for such street opening, and it is necessary
and desirable that such property be dedicated for street purposes
for the use and benefit of the general public, the description
of said property being as follows:
Being a strip of land twenty (20) feet in width off
of the north end of the Municipal Golf Course prop-
erty'out of the David Brown Survey, Jefferson County,
Texas, and being more particularly described as fol-
lows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of the Municipal
Golf Course property or the southeast corner of the
L. Cartwright Realty Company property:,: said point
being in the west line of Fourth Street as now es-
tablished;
Thence south 89 degrees 58 minutes 40 seconds west
along the north line of said Municipal Golf Course
property or the south line of said L. Cartwright Realty
Company property two thousand sevenhundred ninety-
six and forty-eight hundredths (2796.48) feet to the
northwest corner of said Municipal Golf -Course prop-
erty;.
Thence south 00 degree 04 minute west along the west
line of said Municipal Golf Course property twenty
(20) feet to corner;
Thence north 89 degrees 58 minutes 40 seconds east
along a line parallel with and twenty (20) feet dis-
tant from the said north line of the Municipal Golf
Course property two thousand seven hundred ninety-six
and five tenths (2796050) feet to corner in the east
line of the Municipal Golf Course property or the
west line of Fourth Street;.
Thence north 00 degree 01 minute 30 seconds east
along the said east line of the Municipal Golf
Course property or the said west line of Fourth
Street twenty (20) feet to the place of beginning;
The above described tract contains 1.28397 acres,
more or less.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMO:NT,
TEXAS:
That Otho Plummer, Mayor of The City of Beaumont, be, and he is
hereby, authorized to execute on behalf of the City a deed of
dedication, dedicating for the use and benefit of the general
public for street purposes the property hereinabove described,
and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest to said instru-
ment and to affix the seal of The City of Beaumont thereto.
