AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING.THE WORK OF IM- PROVING FOURTEENTH STREET, FROM NORTH STREET TO CALDER AVENUE, MCFADDIN AVENUE, FROM FOUR- TEENTH. -STREET TO FIFTEENTH STREET AND FIFTEENTH STREET FROM MCFADDIN AVENUE TO CALDER AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS. - BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:- SECTION I: That the work of improving the following described streets in the City of Beaumont, Texas, to -wit: - FOURTEENTH STREET, from North Street to Calder Avenue, MCFADDIN AVENUE, from Fourteenth Street to Fifteenth Street and FIFTEENTH STREET from McFaddin Avenue to Calder Avenue, by raising, grading, filling, widening, paving, repaving or re- pairing same and by constructing such drainage lines and facili- ties and other incidentals and appurtenances thereto as deemed necessary and adequate by the City Engineer and as provided for in the Plans and Specifications therefor, and Change Order issued by the City Engineer dated November 21, 1949, said paving consist- ing of the construction upon each of the aforesaid streets of a five inch (511) Reinforced Portland Cement Concrete pavement, to- gether with Integral Curb and of a total width of thirty-one (31) feet from back-to-back of curb_, all bf-the type and width as pro- vided for in said Plans and Specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer,and heretofore approved and adopted by said City Council, although said improvements being as provided for and described in said Plans and Specifications and Change Order issued by the City Engineer on November 21, 1949, and all of same having been performed and completed in full accordance with all the terms and provisions of the Contract dated October 4, 1949; between said City of Beaumont., Texas, and Trotti & Thomson, Inc., said Mans and Specifications therein contained and Change Order issued on November 21, 1949;- And 949; And said City Engineer having measured, examined and caused to be tested the finished improvements by the means and in the manner provided by the terms of _said Contract and the Plans and Specifications therein contained and said City Engineer having found that such improvements have been constructed and com- pleted in full compliance with all provisions of said Contract and said Plans and Specifications and the Change Order issued in relation thereto, and said City Engineer having approved and ac- cepted said work and improvements and.having heretofore issued his certificate of final acceptance and so certified to said City Council and recommending that said City Council accept and receive said work and improvements as constructed and completed by said Trotti & Thomson, Inc., and said work and improvements having been examined and found by the Mayor and City Council of said City of Beaumont, Texas, to have been performed and completed in full com- pliance with said Contract and said Plans and Specifications there- for, and also in accordance with the Change Order issued on November 21, 1949, said work and improvements are hereby found by said City Z' 11� Council to have been performed and completed by said Trotti & Thomson, Inc., in full compliance with the terms and provisions of said Contract, said Plans and Specifications therefor, and the Change Order in relation thereto.issued on_November 21, 1949; and same are hereby accepted and received by said City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas. SECTION II: Said improvements are designated as Unit I in that cer- tain Contract of October 4, 1949, mentioned hereinabove. PASSED by the City Council this the 5/t� day of April, A. D., 1950. C I'C'Y O F BEALimOmT _ BEAUMOI�T, TEXAS Mayor and City Council City of Beaumont Beaumont, Texas Gentlemen: April 3, 1950 Re: Unit I in Contract of October 4, 1949, Fourteenth Street, McFaddin Avenue and Fifteenth Street In accordance with the proceedings heretofore had by your Honorable Body pertaining to the improvement of Fourteenth Street from North Street to Calder Avenue, McFaddin Avenue from Fourteenth Street to Fifteenth Street, and Fifteenth Street from McFaddin Avenue to Calder Avenue, I wish to inform you that the Contractor, Trotti & Thomson, Inc., has performed and completed all of the work in improving such streets in full accordance with the Plans, Specifications and the Contract therefor dated October 4, 1949, and in full accordance with the Change Order in relation thereto dated November 21, 1949, said work being more particularly described as the construction thereupon of a five inch (5") Rein- forced Portland Cement Concrete pavement together with Interal Curb, and of a total width in each street of thirty-one (31T feet, drainage lines and facilities and other appurtenances to such work. I have examined the work done as per that certain Contract of October 4, 1949, and the Change Order issued in relation thereto and find that the Contractor, Trotti & Thomson, Inc., has completed the work in a proper and highly satisfactory manner and in full accordance with the Plans, Specifications and the Contract referred to herein, and in accordance with the Change Order issued in rela- tion to said Contract.
