HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 36-VP lea AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, .RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING THE WORK OF IM- PROVING -BROADWAY AVENUE FROM THE NEST LINE OF CENTER STREET TO THE EAST LINE. OF MARIPOSA STREET -IN THE CITY OF.BEAUMONT,.TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:- SECTION I: That the work of improving the following described street in the City of Beaumont, Texas, to -wit: BROADWAY, from the West Line of Center Street to the East line of Mariposa Street, by raising, grading, filling, widening, paving, repaving or re- pairing same and by constructing such drainage lines and facil- ities and other incidentals and appurtenances thereto as deemed necessary and adequate by the City Engineer as provided for in the Plans and Specifications therefor,;said paving consisting of widening of said street to a width of Forty-one (41) feet from back to back of curb and the construction of a six inch (611) Reinforced Portland Cement Concrete pavement, together with Integral Curb and Gutter, all of the type and width as provided for in said Plans and Specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer, and heretofore approved and adopted by said City Council, all of said improvements being as provided for and described in said Plans and Specifications, and all of same having been per- formed and completed in full accordance with all the terms and provisions of the Contract dated May 11, 1949, between said City of Beaumont, Texas, and Trotti & Thomson, Inc., and said Plans and.Specifications therein contained; And said City Engineer having measured, examined and caused to be tested the finished improvements by the means and in the manner provided by the terms of said Contract and the Plans and Specifications therein contained, and said City Engineer having found that such improvements have been constructed and completed in full compliance with all provisions of said Contract and said Plans and Specifications, and said City Engineer having approved and accepted said work and improvements and having heretofore issued his certificate of final acceptance, and so certified to said City Council and recommending that said City Council accept and receive said work and improvements as constructed and completed by said Trotti & Thomson, Inc., and said work and improvements having been examined and found by the Mayor and City Council of said City of Beaumont, Texas, to have been performed and completed in full com- pliance with said Contract and said -Plans and Specifications there- for, said work and improvements are hereby found by -said City Council to have been performed and completed by said Trotti & Thomson, Inc., in full compliance with the terms and provisions of said Contract and said Plans and Specifications therefor, and same are hereby ac- cepted and received by said City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas. i �_ _ q-- / � S C SECTION II: Said Broadway Avenue is designated as Unit I in that certain Contract of May 11,. 1949, mentioned hereinabove. C ITY Oir B E..ATJM O mrr 05;`} - 1"Mana Ems BEATJMOI�T� TEXAS _ , .. sisiw� r � r i i s fir• � mo��iy. fri .i.+a � .:•�: ��s�f .Pii March 31, 1950 Mayor and City Council City of Beaumont Beaumont, Texas Re: Broadway Avenue, Unit I in Contract of May 11, 1949 Gentlemen: - In accordance with the proceedings hereto- fore had by your Honorable Body pertaining to the improvements of -Broadway Avenue, from the Vilest Line of Center Street to the East line of Mariposa Street, I wish to inform you that the Contractor, Trotti & Thomson, Inc., has performed and completed all of the work in improving such street in full accordance with the Plans, Specifications and the Contract therefor dated May 11, 1949, said work being more particularly described as the construction thereupon of a six (6f1) inch Reinforced Port- land Cement Concrete pavement together -with Integral Curb and Gutter, drainage lines and facilities and other appurtenances to such work, said improvements consisting of a widening of said street to a width of forty-one (411) feet from back to back of curb. I have examined the work done as per that certain Contract of May 11, 1949, and find that the Contractor, Trotti & Thomson, Inc., has completed the work in a proper and highly satisfactory manner, and in full accordance with the Plans, Specifications and the Contract referred to herein..
