AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOS-
ING OF GARFIELD STREET BETWEEN STEELTON STREET
AND IRONTON STREET IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, the property owners abutting on Garfield Street
between Steelton Street and Ironton Street in the Glenwood and
Pinecrest Additions to The City of Beaumont, have signed a
petition asking that said Garfield Street between Ironton and
Steelton
Streets be vacated and closed;. and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the City Plan -
ping Commission for study, investigation and recommendation to
the City Council as to whether such proposal should be approved,
and the City Planning Commission has thoroughly studied and in-
vestigated said proposal- and recommended to the City Council
that the approval of the proposal would be to the best interest
_.and benefit of the public, and that said proposal should, there-
fore, be approved; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of The City of Beaumont
and benefit to the public that the above-mentioned street be
vacated and closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That Garfield Street between Steelton and Ironton Streets in the
Glenwood and Pinecrest Additions to The City of Beaumont, as
shown by map attaahed to this ordinance, be, and the same is
hereby, authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title
to said vacated and'closed street shall revert to and become the
property of the owners of the land abutting on said vacated and
closed street, as provided by law.
