AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING
AND CLOSING OF PEND AVENUE.FROM SHELL
AVENUE NORTH, IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.

WHEREAS, the property owners abutting on Peno Avenue north
the Shell Road Addition to
of Shell Avenue, in/The City of Beaumont, have signed a petition
asking that said Peno Avenue north -'of Shell Avenue be vacated and
closed, and the City Engineer of The City of Beaumont has proposed
that this portion of Peno Avenue be vacated and closed, in order
to promote the best interest and benefit of the public; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the City Plan-
ning Commission for study, investigation and recommendation to
the City Council as to whether such proposal should be approved,
and the City Planning Commission has thoroughly studied and inves-
tigated said proposal and recommended to the City Council that the
approval of the proposal mould be to the best interest and benefit
of the public, and that said proposal should, therefore, be approved;
and,
WHEREAS, it is for the best interest of The City of Beau-
mont and benefit.to the public that the above mentioned street be
vacated and closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
the Shell Road Addition to
That Peno Avenue north of Shell Avenue, in/The City of Beaumont, be
and the same is hereby authorized to be vacated and closed, and that
the title to said vacated and closed street shall revert to and be -
®me the property of the owners of the land abutting on said vacated
and closed street, as provided by law.

We, the undersigned property owners on Peno Avenue North
of Shell Avenue, request your HONORABLE BODY to close said Peno
Avenue from Shell Avenue North.
