AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE.VACATING AND CLOSING
OF A STREET THIRTY (30) FEET IN WIDTH IN BLOCK
THIRTY-ONE (31). OF THE CARTWRIGHT TERRACE ADDITION
TO.THET'CITY OF BEAUMONT, AS SHOWN BY SHADED PORTION
OF MAP ATTACHED TO THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, H. G. Nichols is the sole owner of Block Thirty -
One (31) of the Cartwright Terrace Addition to The City of .
Beaumont, and he has requested that a 30 -foot street in said
Block, as shown by shaded portion on map attached to this ordi-
nance, be vacated and closed; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the City Plan-
ning Commission for study, investigation and recommendation to
the City Council as to whether such proposal should be approved,
and the City Planning Commission has thoroughly studied and in-
vestigated said proposal and recommended to the City Council
that the approval of the proposal would be to the best interest
and benefit of the public, and that said proposal should, there-
fore, be approved; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of The City of Beau-
mont and benefit to the.public that the above mentioned street
be vacated and closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the 30 -foot street in Block Thirty-one (31).of the Cart-
wright Terrace Addition to The City of Beaumont, as shown by.
shaded portion of map attached to this ordinance, be, and the
same is hereby, authorized to be vacated and closed,.and that -the
title to said vacated and closed street shall revert to and be-
come the property.of the parties entitled thereto, as provided by
law.

The undersigned, H. G. Nicbols, is the ovmer of Block Thirty-
one (31) of the Cartwright Terrace Addition to the City of
Beaumont, as shown by.the map thereof recorded in Vol. 3, p. 117,
same being a repla.t of Block Thirty-one (31) of the West Cartwright
Addition to the City of Beaumont as shown by a map thereof re-
corded in Vol. 69, P. 462 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County,
Texas.
A copy of the map of the Cartwright Terrace Addition above-
mentioned is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
There appears on said map a shaded portion, which is apparently
a street, same being approximately 30 feet in width and a continu-
atian of Amarillo Street.
It is respectfully requested that the shaded portion shown
on the attached map be closed as a street and abandoned as such
to the end that same will be the property of H.: G. 1yichols.
