AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING
OF THAT PORTION.OF I_SLA STREET LYING BETWEEN THE
T. &.N. 0. RAILWAY ':RIGHT OF WAY AND THE NORTH
BOUNDARY LINE OF HIGHWAY.90 RIGHT OF WAY, IN THE
SAMA .REED. ADDITION, AND TENTH STREET NORTH OF THE
NORTH LINE OF.HIGHWAY 90 RIGHT OF WAY, IN THE EMMA
REED.ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, under threat of condemnation J. J. Johns has
heretofore conveyed to The City of Beaumont certain property in
the Emma Reed Addition for Highway 90 right-of-way purposes; and,
WHEREAS, as a part of the consideration for the purchase
of this property it was agreed that Isla Street between the T. &
N. 0. Railway right of way and the north boundary line of Highway
90 right of way in the Emma Reed Addition, would be closed, and
Tenth Street north of the north line of Highway 90 right of way
would be closed; and,
WHEREAS, such proposal for the closing of the above
mentioned streets has been referred to the City Planning Commission
for study, investigation and recommendation to the City Council
as to whether such proposal should be approved, and the City Planning
Commission has thoroughly studied and investigated said proposal
and recommended to the City Council that the approval of the said
proposal would be to the best interest and benefit of the public,
and that said proposal should, therefore, be approved; and,
WHEREAS, it is for the best interest of The City of Beau-
mont and benefit of the public that the above mentioned streets be
vacated and closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAU-
MONT, TEXAS:
That Isla Street between the T. & N. 0. Railway right of way and
the north boundary line of Highway 90 right of way in the Emma Reed
Addition, and Tenth Street north of the north line of Highway 90

right of way in The City of Beaumont be, and thesame are hereby,
authorized to be vacated and closed_, and that the title to said
vacated and closed streets shall revert to and become the property
of the owners of the land abutting on said vacated and closed
streets, as provided by law..

A.D. 1950.
