AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING OFFER
OF ABRAHAM BAZILE TO PURCHASE
CERTAIN PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING
PROPER CITY OFFICERS TO EXECUTE
AND DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEED TO
_ PURCHASER OF SAME::
PREAMBLE
WHEREAS, on the 8th day of March, A.D.; 1946, the City of
Beaumont recovered a tax judgment against E. C. Lee and wife
Ethel Lee, together with the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the,
following described property, to -wit
Lot ll,.Block 1, Corbin'Addition to
the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County,
Texas, as per map or plat of said addition
of record in the office- of ' the County Clerk
of Jefferson County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of July, A.D.; '1946.9' the City of
Beaumont purchased said above described -property at public auction
in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and,
WHEREAS,on the 9th day -of July, A.D-, 1946, W: W. Richardson,
Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas,, --made; executed, and -delivered
unto the City'of-Beaumont-a tax deed to the above "described property
in satisfaction of -said judment and tax lien, which deed was re-
corded in Vol. 633, Page " 39 --, ""of -the Deed - Re cords -of - Jefferson County,
Texas, on the 26th day of,September, A.D., 1947; and,
WHEREAS, on the' 20th -day- of"October, A;D", 1949,'Abraham Bazile
offered to purchase all of the right, title, . interest, claim;., estate
and demand of the City' of Beaumont in the above described -property
for the sum of Two Hundred Sixteen and 56/100 ($216.56) Dollars; and.,
WHEREAS, the 'said Abraham Bazile paid to the City.of Beaumont'
56) Dollars in_
the sum of -Two Hundred Sixteen and 56/100 0216. f
vection with said offer to purchase the abovedescribed property; and,
WHEREAS, the City 'Council is of the . opinion that - such sale "is
for the best interest of the City of Beaumont and should be consum-
mated;
NOW, 'therefor'e; be it ordained by . the ' City Council of the City
of Beaumont that the be
offer to purchase the above-
describ-ed property,is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf -of the City of
Beaumont a quitclaim -deed conveying' -unto Abraham Bazile all of ' the
right, title, interest;` claim, ' estate ' and demand of the City of
Beaumont in th6 above described property derived by reason of said
Sheriff's deedo
