HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 6-Vem J AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF A 40 -FOOT STREET BETWEEN BLOCKS FORTY-SIX.(46) AND FIFTY-SIX.(56) OF. THE PINECREST ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT FROM PITTSBURGH AVENUE TO BIRMINGHAM AVENUE. WHEREAS, the owners of Lots Seven (7), Eight (8), Nine (9), Ten (10), Eleien (11), and Twelve (12), Block Forty -Six (46) of the Pinecrest Addition to The City of Beaumont have re -platted said portion of Block Forty -Six (46) so as to dedicate a 40 -foot street running from Pittsburgh Avenue eastward through said Block Forty Six (46) to Birmingham Avenue, said street to be a continuation of Taylor Street; and, WHEREAS, as this property was originally platted, a 40 -foot street with a 20 -foot alley was dedicated to run between Blocks Forty -Six (46) and Fifty -Six (56) in said Pinecrest Addition; and, WHEREAS, said property owners, owning property in Block Forty -Six (46) and Fifty -Six (56), Pinecrest"., Addition, are desirous of having the 40 -foot street as originally dedicated on the map of Pinecrest Addition closed and abandoned; and, WHEREAS, the said proposal has been referred to the City Planning and Zoning Commission for study, investigation and recom- mendation to the City JCounbil as to whether such proposal should be approved, and the City Planning and Zoning Commission has thoroughly studied and investigated said proposal and recommended to the City Council that the approval of said proposal would be to the best interest and benefit of the public, and that said proposal should, therefore, be approved; and, WHEREAS, it is for the best interest of The City of Beaumont and benefit of the public that the above mentioned street be vacated and closed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: That the 40 -foot street as originally platted, between Blocks Forty - Six (46) and Fifty -Six (56) in the Pinecrest Addition, be, and the same is hereby, authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title to said vacated and closed street shall revert to and become the property of the personslegally entitled thereto, under the laws of the State of Texas and the ordinances of the City of Beau - moot. 1949.
