Subject: Alley Closing_ Petition - Block 29, Cartwright Terrace Addition
COMMENT:
There is attached an application for the closing of
an alley in Block 29 of the Cartwright Terrace Addition. At
the special meeting of the Planning Commission Subcommittee
held September 219 1955, the committee voted to recommend to
the City Council that this alley be closed as requested.
Will you please draw the necessary instruments to
present this to the City Council for approval.

COUNTY OF JEFFERSON September 1, 1955
We, the undersigned, being the sole owners of all the property
abutting on alley in Block _ 29 of the Cartvrright Terrace
Addition to the City of Beaumont, hereby respectfully petition that the
alley located in Block 29 �. Cartwright Terrace Addition be
closed in the manner as permitted by the statutes of the -State of Texas,
and that such alley become the absolute property of the owners of the land
in said block adjacent and abutting on such alley, it being understood,
however, that the closing of this alley shall in no way affect the.rights
of the City as to placing and maintaining therein of any sewer or water
lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles, or cables
or any other service or utility of the City, or the right of the City to
grant franchises to persons or corporations to place and maintain therein
any such sewer or water line, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines,
wires, poles, or cables, or any other service or utility of the City.
