TEXAS:
WHEREAS, by'ordinance-of The'. City of`Beaumont,,dated
- . January 10, 1950, `Isla. Street; lying between,,the T. & N. 0.
Railway,Cotpany, s right of way and the north boundary line of
Highway 90 right of, way, and-Tenth.`Street .north of the north
line of Highway 9'0 right of way in ' the. Emma Reed Addition,-. were. -'
vacated and:closedi and,
WHEREAS,- by.. ordinance --of The `City of Beaumont, dated
July 19; .19.55;; The -City of Beaumont :authorized. the conveyance of
a portion of the old.'abandoned .T. &'�.N:','•0-. Railway Company right
of ;way to John J. Johns" '.Jt,,. and Ida 'Reed Goodrich;' and,
WHEREAS, by -deed- dated July 16, 1955,."John J. 'Johns, Jr,,
Ida -Reed Goodrich and husband, J.•H" Goodrich,�conveyed.to The -
city of Beaumont 'a tract- of --land out :of -the northeast corner- of
the. Emma -Reed Addition; 50 feet in width and 'adj-oining the -west-
erly line of the Sabine; &,.-East Texas- Railroad; Company's -right of:
way, being.`the 'old -'T:, & N.", Railway..Company'.s right of -way,
for the extension of Ninth Street from:, its intersection with Maple
Street , in a , northwest.erly direction;-.and,-
WHEREAS,

of Ninth Street on the east and the northwest 'line of Emma Reed
Addition on.'the,west;- and that said street has never been opened,
used or maintained since.t'he dedication of the Emma>Reed Addi= .
