AN ,ORDINANCE
PROHIBITING'SALES-OF AUTOMOBILES,ON SUNDAY AND PRE-
SCRIBING '-A PENALTY OF NOT -LESS -THAN $20.00. NOR MORE .
THEN $50.00 FOR VIOLATION; REPEALING.ALL ORDINANCES
OR SECTIONS .OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
EXPRESSLY REPEALING AN ORDINANCE PASSED` BY THE CITY
COUNCIL ON AUGUST 2, 1955,.ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE
REGULATING SALES OF AUTOMOBILES -.ON SUNDAY AND PRE-
SCRIBING. -PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION.;.REPEALING.ALL OR--
DINANCES OR SECTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE-
WITH.

- BE` IT. ORD,AINED:BY THE .CITY . OF :BEAUMONT, -TEXAS:
Section 1.
Any person-, firm, or -corporation dealing in used'or new auto
mobiles., or the proprietor of any such business, or the agent or -em-
ployee of such -person, firm or corporation:who shall,,sell, barter,
tradeor .permit his place of business to bb open for' the purpose of
selling,bartering.or trading used or new automobiles on Sunday shall
_ be_guilty of 'a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall -be
fined.in any sum of not less.,than Twenty ($20.00) Dollars nor more,
than, Fifty.($50. 00) Dollars.
Section 2.
The -ordinance passed by the City,.Council on August 21 1955,
entitled "An Ordinance Regulating Salesof Automobiles on Sunday and
Prescribing Penalties for Violation; -Repealing All Ordinances or -Sec-
tions of Ordinances- in "Conflict Herewith", is hereby expressly re-
pealed. :
-Section-3.
Any :ordinance inconsistent with any of the terms or provisions
of this' ordinance is hereby repealed, provided, however, that such
repeal..shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency, and in all
other respects'this'ordinance`shall be cumulative of other ordinances
relating to and covering the subject matter covered by this ordinance.
