AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT TO.EXECUTE AND THE CITY
CLERK TO.AFFIX THE CORPORATE SEAL AND.
ATTEST THE SAME A CERTAIN SUPPLEMENTAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE.CITY AND -THE STATE
OF TEXAS.MODIFYING AND SUPPLEMENTING AN
AGREEMENT ENTERED INTO BETWEEN THE CITY
AND THE STATE OF.TEXAS UNDER DATE OF.
MARCH 21,-1950 IN RESPECT TO RESPONSIBILITIES
FOR INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION
OF TRAFFIC_CONTROL SIGNAL LIGHTS -AND THE.
STREET ILLUMINATION SYSTEM.ON_THE SECTION
OF U..S._HIGHWAY 90 FROM ELEVENTH STREET TO
THE NECHES . RIVER BRIDGE:::
WHEREAS, under date of March 211 1950 the City of
Beaumont and the State of Texas entered into an agreement
outlining their respective responsibilities for the improve-
ment and maintenance of the section of U. S. Highway 90
from Eleventh Street to the Neches River Bridge; and
WHEREAS, it is the mutual desire of the City and
State to modify and supplement -this -agreement in respect to
responsibilities for installation, maintenance and operation
of traffic control signal lights and the street -illumination
system; and
WHEREAS, a supplemental agreement dated the 17th
day of August, 1954 has been prepared and the City Council
is of the opinion that same correctly states the responsi-
bilities of the respective parties with reference to signal
lights and the street illumination system for that portion
of Highway 90 covered by their original agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That Mayor Elmo R. Beard, be and he is hereby authorized to

execute for and on behalf of the City of Beaumont, a supple-
mental agreement dated August 17, 1954 with the State of
Texas for the purpose of modifying and supplementing the
agreement between the City and the State heretofore
executed as of March 21, 1950, said supplemental agreement
fixing the responsibilities of the respective parties for
installation, .maintenance and operation of traffic control
signal lights and the street illumination system, and the
City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to attest to
same and to affix the seal of the City of Beaumont thereto.

this the 17th day of August, A. D., 1954.
