HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 57-Y6 a_� q k q" t _? �— AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ACCERNBURY ING THE WORK OF IMPROVING RISTOL DRIVE AND DRIVE FROM THE EAST LINE OF BERKSHIRE LANE BERSTWARD TO THE WEST LINE OF UNIT 11 AND KSHIRE LANE FROM BRISTOL DRIVE TO SUNBURY DRIVE, BEING THAT PORTION OF .SAID STREETS ABUTTING LOTS 6 AND 7,.BLOCK 1, -LOTS 51 61 AND 71 BLOCK 31 LOTS 14 THROUGH 251 BLOC41 AND LOTS 1 THROUGH 12, BLOCK 5, UNIT 1, �ESTVIDf ADDITION, IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: That the work of improving the following described streets and storm sewers in The City of Beaumont, Texas, to -wit: Bristol Drive and Sunbury Drive from the east line of Berkshire Lane westward to the west line of Unit 11 and Berkshire Lane from Bristol Drive to Sunbury Drive, being that portion of . said streets abutting Lots 6 and 7, Block 11 Lots 51 6, and 7, Block 3, Lots 14 through 251 Block 41 and Lots 1 through 121 Block 5, Unit 1, Westview Addition, in The City of Beaumont, Texas. All of the above pavement was twenty-seven (27) feet in width and of five (5) inch reinforced _ concrete with integral curb,.together with the necessary storm sewers; constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by George J.Schaumburg and approved by the City Engineer; has been completed by the developers of Unit 1, Westview Addition, and the City Engineer of The City of Beaumont, having examined said work and having found that said work has been completed in a proper and highly satisfactory manner, and in full accordance with the minimum standard requirements of The City of Beaumont for the type of construction made,thereon, same being the con- struction of 5" reinforced concrete pavement, together with necessary appurtenances to such type of construction, and storm sewers, and the City Engineer having approved and having recom- mended the acceptance of such work by the City Council of the City of Beaumont and the assumption by the City of Beaumont of the obligation of maintenance of said streets and storm sewers: within the limits designated, according to the standards pre- scribed for maintenance of other dedicated streets in the City of Beaumont, and said work and improvements having been examined and found by the Mayor and the City Council of said City of Beaumont to have been performed and completed in full compliance with the minimum standard requirements of The City of Beaumont for such construction, and said improvements are hereby accepted and received by said City Council of The City of Beaumont, and. said City Council assumes the obligation of maintaining said streets and storm sewers within the limits designated, according to the standards prescribed for maintenance of other dedicated streets and storm sewers in The City of Beaumont. D., 1954. r IVa o r i, ��� iii ,rrylllll 1 Honorable Mayor and City Council City of Beaumont, Texas Gentlemen: April 28, 1954 The developers of Unit 1 Westview Addition have completed the street and storm sewer improvements on that portion abutting Lots 6 and 7 Block 1, Lots 5, 61 7 Block 3, Lots 14, through 25 Block 4, and Lots 1 through 12 Block 5. This includes the paving of Bristol Drive and Sunbury Drive from the east line of Berkshire Lane westward to the west line of Unit 1, and Berkshire Lane from Bristol Drive to Sunbury Drive. All of the above pavement is twenty-seven (27) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb and is of five (5) inch reinforced concrete with integral curb and the necessary storm sewer appurtenances. Mr. Harvey Trahan, Street & Bridge Superintendent, and I have inspected these improvements. Mr. George J. Schaumburg has sub- mitted a letter certifying that the above street and storm sewer im- provements were constructed in accordance with the plans and specifi- cations as prepared by him and approved by me. On the basis of the inspection by Mr. Trahan and myself and the letter from Mr. Schaumburg, I recommend that the City of Beaumont accept these street and storm sewer improvements for permanent mainte- nance.
