S., AN ORD INANC E ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER SPECIAL WARRANTY DEEDS TO SAM CURTIS AND.WIFE,NANCY CURTIS, CONVEYING LOT FOURTEEN (14), IN BLOCK SEVEN (7), IV -EST OAKLAND -ADDITION, AND LOT TWO (2), BLOCK FIFTEEN (15), WEST OAKLAND ADDITION, AND RETAINING VENDOR'S- LIEN IN LATTER.DEED AND TO TRANSFER SAID VENDOR'S LIEN TO THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF BEAUMONT . TnIHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to purchase Lots 18 and 19, in Block 71 West Oakland Addition to The City of Beaumont in connection with the extension of Highway 69, said property being presently owned by Sam Curtis and wife, Nancy Curtis, subject to a mechanics' and materialmen's lien and deed of trust lien on said Lot 18 i -n favor of The First National Bank of Beaumont to secure an indebtedness in the principal sum of $1,385.99; and WHEREAS, in order for The First National Bank of Beaumont to-re-Eain the lien above mentioned, it was necessary for the City to acquire title in its own name to Lot 21 Block 15, West Oakland Addition, and to convey the property to Sam Curtis and wife, Nancy Curtis, retaining a vendor's lien and - deed of trust lien to secure the payment of the above indebted- ness and then for the City to transfer these liens to The First National Bank of Beaumont. The City also acquired title in its name to Lot' 14, Block 71 West Oakland Addition, but this property shall'be conveyed to Sam Curtis and wife, Nancy Curtis, free and clear of any indebtedness; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED'BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of The Gity of Beaumont special warranty deeds, conveying to Sam Curtis and wife, Nancy Curtis, Lot 14, Block 7, West Oakland Addition to The City of Beaumont, and Lot 2, Block 15, West Oakland Addition to The City of Beaumont and retain- ing in the latter deed a vendor's lien to secure the payment of the above mentioned outstanding indebtedness and that the said Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of The City of Beaumont a transfer of the above men- tioned indebtedness and liens to The First National Bank of Beaumont.
