AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE FLUORIDATION OF
THE WATER SUPPLY OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
AFTER APPROVAL -OF THE TEXAS STATE DEPARTMENT
OF HEALTH, AND PROVIDING THAT. THE COST OF
SAME SHALL BE.PROVIDED FOR IN THE ANNUAL
OPERATING BUDGET OF THE WATER DEPARTMENT OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That a source of fluoride ion approved by the Texas
State Department of Health be added to the water supply of The
City of Beaumont, under the rules and regulations of the State
Board of Health; such addition to be administered by the Director
of the Water Department of The City of Beaumont in a manner
approved by the Director of Public Health of The City of Beaumont.
Section 2.
The addition of fluoride shall be approximately one (1)
and not more than one and five -tenths (1.5) parts of fluoride to
every million parts of water being distributed in the water supply
system of The City of Beaumont.
Section 3.
The City Manager shall include the cost of the addition
of fluoride in the annual operating budget of the Water Department
of The City of Beaumont.
