HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 37-Y& a_�_ r -I P V F L_ _ AIT ORD INANC E AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER TO A. L: CARTER QUITCLAIM DEED COVERING CERTAIN PROPERTY. WHEREAS, on the 19th day of October, A. D., 1945, The City of Beaumont, Plaintiff, recovered a tax judgment against A. L. Carter, together with the foreclosure of a tax lien upon the following described property, to -wit: and Lots 251, 26 and 27, Block.2_, Betty J. Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, as per map or plat of said Addition of record in the office of the County Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas; WHEREAS, on the 5th day of March, A. D., 1946, The City of Beaumont purchased said above described property at public auction in satisfaction of said judgment and tax lien; and WHEREAS, on the 11th day of March, A.D., 1946, W. W. Richardson, Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, made, executed and delivered unto The City of Beaumont a tax deed to the above described property in satisfaction of said judgment and tax.lien which deed was recorded in Vol. 619, Page 488, Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas, on the 13th day of June, 1946; and WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that it is to the best interest of The City of Beaumont that the City's interest in the above described property be quitclaimed to the said A. L. Carter; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS: That the l,Tayor and the City Clerk be, and they are hereby, au- thorized to execute and deliver on behalf of The City of Beaumont, a quitclaim deed, conveying unto A. L. Carter all of the right, title, interest, claim, estate and demand of The City of Beaumont in the above described property derived by reason of said Sheriff's Deed.
