BE IT ORDADgED BY- THE CITY COPiMSSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUPTONT: SECTION l: That in accordance with Section 26; sub -section 4 of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, anUother provisions of said Charter, and the laws of the State of Texas, -relating thereto, there shall be held in the City of Beaumont, on the first Tuesday in April, 192'31 the same being April 3rd9, 1923, a regular municipal election for said City for the purpose of electing two councilmen for the First Ward, two councilmen for the Second 17aCrd; and two councilmen forthe Third Ward in said City. SECTION 2. That said. election shall be held in said City at the following places, to wit: -- In the First Ward - At the Central Fire Station; i- In the Second Ward - At the City Hall; - In the Third. Ward - At the Jefferson County Courthouse.P'17-,� ��2 SECTION 3. Z For Ward 2���,� �r For Ward 3 30 SECTION 4® That said election shall be held under,and the qualifications of those voting thereat shall be controlled by the provisions of the State Law governing eleet.ions: SECTION 50' That a copy of this .Ordinance, signed by the Mayor of the City of Beaumont; and attested by the City Clerk thereof, shall serve as proper and sufficient notice of said elect.ion;.and the Mayor is hereby directed to cause a copy of this ordinance signed by himself and attested by the City Clerk to be posted at each of the places herein designated for holding said elections at least thirty days prior to the date of holding said election. SECTION 6 That an ordinance has not yetbeen passed providing for and 4 ordering a general municipal election for the year 1923 and that such ordinance is necessary, thereby creating an imperative public emergency necessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be read on three separate days before their passage.
