and privilege to ,constrUct, lay, maintain and operate a
standard gaage railroad track in the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, Texas, along and across TTechee Street,
and so inuch of the alley runninU east and arrest through
Block _umbe-r Seventeen (17) of the Van Wormer Addition as
may be necessary for the construction, operation and mainte-
nance of said track, the center line of which -wi.11 be eighteen
(18) incheti from the south line of said alley through said
Flock _�o. 17; said track entering Block ;number Eighteen (18)
of the Van Ifformer Addition one hundred seventy-one and eight
t enths, (171.8 ), feet south of the south line of Crockett Street
and entering Bloc. No. 17 of the Van - Wormer Addition one hun-
dred
un-dred sixty-one and five tenthot (1611.5)) feet south of the south
line of Crockett Street, and described under the tees and
conditions of said fr'anchise','

SECTION 1
The Gulif, Beaumont and X nsaz City Railway Company, its.
succes2ors and assign2, is hereby granted the riZ'rit, privilege
and franchise to construct, lay, r_ �aintain.a.r',d cpera,to a.t its
own expense a standard glum e railroad track over and across
!Teches Sereet, entering the hese lline of 'Jechec. Street, at a
point one hundred seventy -ole and eight tenths (171.u) feet
south of the south line of Crockett Street, crossing _Techez

SECTION 2
The t'iack to be. .laid, built-, constructed,, maintained

purpose of affording loading, unloading and'.stvitcl�ing facili-
ties to commercial and industrial :enterprises now- located or
hereafter, to, be located. in the vicinity of said track, .a.'nd

thirty drays after the ;p. ssage a.nd approval of this ordinance,
file with. the Cityy f the City of Beaumont its
written .acceptance of this ordinance. .
Unless .the Gulf, Beaumont and Kansas City Raillr,ay.Coin-,
pang,. its ' successors and. assigns' shall 6oii'struct, bu i Id, lay
and complete ' for the purpose of operation the track herein con-
templated within twelve months, .a.fter the final passage,' acceptance
and publication of this ordinance, then to. the extent''of the
track not so completed ,this ordinance shall became null and
void and .o f" no force and effect;
SECTION ,..�

granted' are bUbject to -all, of the terms :and provisions �of the
Charter -of the . City 'of .Beaumont, and said privileges and fran-
chise,hereby granted .shall continue in force for a period 60f

acceptance of the terms hereof.
SECTION '6
As reasonable compensation .for the.. rights 'and privileges
granted by this ordinance,: the. Gulf, 'Beaumont grid Kansas. City
Railway :Company, agrees. .and obaigaaes:' itself to' ;pay to the .City
of-Beaumont` on'or before - the first; day"of July of each 'barafter
