HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 79-C-Ai A- N 0 R D I ISI A N C E i Entitled an ordnance providing for the preservation of the public safety, peace and property of the people_ of the City of Beaumont, Texas, and the immediate discouragement and prohibition of the influx to the City of Beaumontf P persons whose sojourn in the said City of Beaumont, encourages and induces, immorality and lawlessness, and renders unsafe, the peace, property and el-lbe ing of the people of the City of Beaumont -- and --pr ov icltng_ a- penal ty for the violation thereof. - Section T. Be it ordained; by the City Commission of the City of Beaumont, in legal and regular session convened, that it shall hereafter be%unlawful_ i i for any person or persons to carry on and maintain under or in any tent, awning or other moveable and temporary structure, or in the open air, within the limits of the City o� Beaumont, any dance, vaudeville performance, circus, carnival or theater for a period of time more than twenty four hours in each twelves months, from the passage of this ordinance, and it shall be unlawful then unless -such person or persons shall first procure a permit from the City Manager of the City of Beaumont; or for any person to peddle or-, in any -other-, manne-r--se-11- or off er__for sale any kind of merchandise, patent medicine or nostrum, on the following Streets;- Pearl, Orleans, Park; Broa-d-ffay, 'from Pearl to Main; niberty Ave . , from Alamo St., to IaIain; Cro-ckett ;Street; Bowie St., from Neches to Mai n; Fannin- Street, from Neches to Main; Forsythe St., from Neches to Liain; St., from Orleans to Main; 'Washington, from Orle;ans to main, in the City of -Beaumont Jefferson County, Texas; :and it shal-I be unlawful for any person or persons to beg,. and solicit a.l_ms within the Limits of the City of Beaumont, without first securing" a permit ,from the City Manager of the City of Beaumont. Section 11. --_T_—__-`Any- person -or—verso-nu whe: sha13 violate a.ny--prois_io-n_of._t-is- Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a middemeanor, and upon conviction, fined in any sum not less than One Dollar or more than Fifty Dollars be r ($50.00) , or imprisonment for a period not less than five or more than ten days, in the City Jail, .or both.
