BIS IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COtr�aISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: -Sect-1 on 1. That there shall be and is hereby levied, and shall be aseezuod and c ollec teed for the year 1920, an ad Valorem tax of Two ($2.00) Dollars on each One Hundred Dollars worth of property in the City of Beaumont made taxable by law, which said taxes when colleeUK shall be, according to Section 16 of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, apportioned along the funds and departments of the city government of the City of Beaumont, and for the purposes hereinafter set forth, as follows, to wit : For the Depar tme n o f Law----------------------- None. For, the Department of Public Service; -----=------- N0.442 For the Department; of Public Welfare, ------------- 00.11 For the Department of Public Safety, ------------- 00.294 For the Department of Finance- -------------------- 00.03 For the Genera! Fund, ----------------------------- 00.034 F For the City of Beaumont Public -Free Schools, --. - r�v 0 1 00.60 For the purpose of paying the accruing interest, and to provide a sinking fund for the payment of the entire ,bonded indebtedness of the City of Beaumont for all '>:_arposes, save and except the interest and sinking Section 2. That there shall be and is hereby levied, and there shall be collected on all occupations and callings on which an occupation tax is levied by the State of Texas, a sum equal to one-half of the amount so levied by the State of Texas, on each respective occupation or calling, in the City of Beaumont, 22 Section 3. That there shall be and is hereby levied,, and there shall be --co Btlected.-a- poll tax --of _.One ($_1.00) Dollar- _o -n- each -and--every able- bodied citizen of the City of Beaumont between the ages of 21 and 60 years, of whom the State of Texas shall require the payment of. a, poll tax; provided, however, that those who may be exempt from the .payment of such tax by the constitution and laws of the State of Texas, shall be and are hereby ebempt .from the payment of such tax in the City of Beaumont.
