HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 25-CAN ORDINANCE, Entitled an Ordinance, levying or assessing as a tax upon lots and parts of.lots, blocks or tracts of land where not divided into lots or blocks fronting or abutting upon Neches "Street in the city of Beaumont two-thirds of the cost of pav- ing and all of the cost of curbing said Neches Street from Fannin Street to Forsythe Street in the City of Beaumont; de- claring each said:�-tax so levied a lien upon said property and a personal debt against the owner or owners thereof; providing for the collection of said tax and all costs incurred in oolleet- ing same if not paid at the time it becomes due and payable and providing the rate of interest said tax shall bear from the time it becomes due and payable and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAIIED.BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.. TEXAS. SECTION I. That upon the property fronting or abutting upon -Neches Street from Fannin Street to Forsythe Street in the City of Beau- mont, there is hereby levied and assessed as a tax two-thirds of the cost of paving and all of the cost of curbing on said Neches Street from Fannin Street to Forsythe Street. The fact--that the fore'going.portions of. streets are. in bad condition and badly, in need of,, paving in order. to faoilitate - the heavy traffic over „same, creates an_%emergency, and .an, impera- '_'tive public necessity, neoessitating the suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to b-e read "at ..three separate-meetings. Said rule is therefore hereby suspended and this o-rdinanoe shall take effect and be 'in full foroe and -effect from and after its passage and lawful publication.
