AN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING GULF
STATES UTILITIES COMPANY TO,PIACE IN
EFFECT A NEW RATE SCHEDULE, TO -IIT:
205, IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS,
EFFECTIVE AS TO METER READINGS MADE
BY SUCH COMPANY ON AND AFTER MAy 1,
1958 AND AS OF SUCH TIME TO DIS -
CONT= RATE SCHEDULE 202.
WHEREAS, Gulf States Utilities Company on April __L, 1958 has
requested authority to substitute New Rate Schedule 205 for the then cur-
rently effective Rate Schedule 202, and.such New Rate Schedule 205 has
been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Beaumont, and approved by
-the-City-Council; -- -
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Gulf States Utilities Company is hereby authorized to place into effect
as to readings made by it on and after May 1, 1958, of its customers' meters
located in Beaumont, Texas, New Rate Schedule 205, which New Rate Schedule
has heretofore been filed by Gulf States Utilities Company with the City of
Beaumont and Gulf States Utilities Company is further authorized to dis-
continue, upon said New Rate Schedule being placed in effect, its previously
effective and filed Rate Schedule 202.
Section 2.
That nothing in this ordinance contained shall be construed in any manner
now or hereafter limiting or modifying the right and power of the City
Council under the law to regulate the rates charged by Gulf States Utilities
Company for its services within the City of Beaumont.
