AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND ABANDON-
ING OF AN ALLEY SEPARATING LOTS 7, 8 9,.13 AND 14
114 BLOCK 76, -AND LOT 10.IN BLOCK 76 6F PINECREST
ADDITION TO AND
OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owners of all of the
property abutting the alley separating Lots 7., 8, 9, 13 and 14
in Block 76 and Lot 10 in Block 76 of Pinecrest Addition to The
City of Beaumont has been presented to the City Council of The
City of Beaumont requesting that this alley.be vacated and aban-
doned; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has been referred to the City Plan-
ning Commission for examination and approval, and the same has
been approved by said Commission; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that it is to the
best interest.of The City -of Beaumont and benefit to the public
that the above-mentioned alley be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the alley separating Lots 7, 8, 9, 13 and 14 in Block 76 and
Lot 10 in Block 76 of the Pinecrest Addition to The City of Beau-
mont be, and the same is hereby, authorized to be vacated and
abandoned, and that all easements heretofore existing upon this
portion of said alley are hereby released and extinguished, and
that the title to said alley shall revert to and become the prop-
erty of the parties entitled thereto, as provided by law.

INTERSTATE PROJECT
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PORTION
OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 10 IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEAS, BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING
,LIMITS,, TO -WIT: FROM COLLEGE STREET EXTENSION TO WALDEN ROAD AS A CMTTROLLID
ACCESS HIGHWAY AND AS A STREET, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "THE P_ROJDCTU AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE AND THE CITY CLERK TO AFFIX THE
CORPORATE SEAL AND ATTEST THE SAIIM, A CERTAIN SUPPLEME\TTARY CONTRACT BETWEEN
THE CITY AND THE STATE OF TEXAS PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE 9
EXISTK%CE AND USE OF SAID PROJECT AS A'CONTROLLED ACCESS HIGHWAY AIM AS A--
STREET AND DETERTMUTE G THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE -CITY AND THE STATE OF TEAS
WTTH REFERENCE THERETO.
WHEREAS, the public convenience, safety and necessity of the City, and the
people of the City require that the portion of Interstate Highway .10 from
College Street Extension to Walder_ Road be constructed, since the existing
condition constitutes a serious inconvenience to the public, whioh it is
urgently required to be remedied; and
WHEREAS, the City has requested the State of Texas to contribute financially
in the project; and
WHEREAS, the State of Texas has made it known to the City that the State
will assist the City in the improvement and maintenance of said project as
a street and as a Controlled Access Highway„
NOW THEREFORE,, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL:
SECTION lo That since the public convenience, safety and necessity of the
City and the people of the City require it, said project shall be constructed -
as a street and as a Controlled Access Highway as defined by House Bill Noo
179, Acta55th Legislature, Regular Session,
SECTION 20 That the State of Texas to and is hereby authorized to enter upon
construct and maintain the project at the location and -in the manner shown on
the construction plans to be attached hereto, marked "E�iiibit Alhand made a
part -hereof in all respects.

SECTION 3. The Mayor of the City be and is hereby authorized to execute for
and on behalf of the City an agreement and contract with the State of Texas
supplementing a Municipal. and Construction Agreement for Freeway Project
entered into by the City and the State of Texas the 8th day of November 1955,
in accordance with and for the purpose of carrying out the terms and provisions
of this ordinance in the form attached hereto and marked "Exhibit Bn. The
Mayor of the City is further authorized to approve and sign the detailed plans
for construction of the project or any section thereof when and as such plans
are completed and prior to award of construction contract by the State. The
City Clerk is hereby directed to attest the agreement and contract and to affix
the proper seal of the City thereto.
