HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2-AAAN ORDINANCE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING GULF STATES UTILITIES COMPANY TO PLACE IN EFFECT REVISED RATE SCHEDULES, TO -WIT: 202, 220-T, and 301 IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, EFFECTIVE AS TO METER READINGS MADE BY SUCH COMPANY ON AND AFTER NOVEMBER 1, 1955• WHEREAS, Gulf States Utilities Company on October 2.�, 1955 has requested authority to substitute Revised Schedules 202, 220-T, and 301 for the then currently effective Schedules 202-T, 220-T, and 301-T, and such Revised Schedules 202, 220-T, and 301 have been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Beaumont, and approved by the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS Section 1. That Gulf States Utilities Company is hereby authorized to place into effect as to readings made by it on and after November 1, 1955, of its customers' meters located in Beaumont, Texas, Revised Rate Schedules 202, 220-T, and 301, which Revised Rate Schedules have heretofore been filed by Gulf States Utilities Company with the City of Beaumont and Gulf States Utilities Company is further authorized to discontinue, upon said revised schedules beigg placed in effect, its previously effective and filed Rate Schedules 2027T, 220-T, and 301-T. Section 2. That nothing in this ordinance contained shall be construed in any manner now or hereafter limiting or modifying the right and power of the City Council under the law to regulate the rates charged by Gulf States Utilities Company for its services within the City of Beaumont. APPLICABILITY This rate is applicable under the regular terms and conditions of the Company for all domestic purposes in single family residences or individual apartments. II. MONTHLY RATE First 40 kwhr used per month @ 5.0¢ per ktthr Next 60 k*ahr used per month @ 4.1¢ per kwhr *Next 300 kwhr used per month @ 2.3¢ per kwhr *Additional kwhr used per month 0 2.1� per kwhr *For water heating meeting the requirements of Section III below, total kwhr in excess of 150 kwhr, as limited in following table according to tank size, will be billed at 1.17c per kwhr. Tank Capacity 30. to 45 Gallons 46. to 70 Gallons 71 Gallons and larger Maximum Kwhr @ 1.17c 300 400 500 (For two or more water heaters, tank capacity is sum of individual capacities.) Exclusive of kwhr for water heating, the greater of the following kwhr (a) or (b) will be billed at 1.5c .per kwhr, subject to Section IV below: (a) First 200 kwhr in excess of 600 kwhr (b) Kwhr. in excess of 200 kwhr per kw of load which are also in excess of 600 kwhr Minimum Monthy Charge: $1.10 III. REQUIREMENTS OF WATER HEATING In order to qualify for rate for water heating, Customer must have in regular use an electric water heater of the automatic storage type to supply all hot water requirements; the water heater installation, control, operation, and the arrangement and sizes of heating elements must meet Company's specifications. Company may install appropriate control devices to regulate the hours of operation or to disconnect the water heater during use of other large appliances. Company may change the method of control from time ,to time, but Cus- tomer is guaranteed at least one complete charging every 24 hours. IV. DETERMINATION OF LOAD A load meter will be installed whenever Customer's use exceeds 800 kwhr, exclusive of kwhr for water heating, for at least 3 consecutive months. The load for billing purposes will be determined to the nearest whole kw as the highest measured 15 -minute kw, load during the billing period. - 1155 - - - - - - - - --- ---- - - - - -- — --- — — - --- - Effective vith meter readings on and after -November -1., 1955 Gulf States Utilities Company Schedule 220-T METERED RATE FOR TIME -CONTROLLED WATER HEATING I. AVAILABILITY This rate is applicable under the regular terms and conditions of the Company for Off -Peak storage water heating only, subject to the following regulations; ' 1. For residential Customers this schedule is available only to Customers existing at the same location .prior to May 1, 1954, whose total bill would be increased by application of combination Schedule. 202 -and then only until such time as total billing under combination Schedule 2 0 2 becomes equal to or less than that under separate rates in effect prior to May 1, 1954. 2. The supply of electricity shall be limited to the hours during which the equipment utilized by Company's peak load has been released and during which the use of electricity is at a minimum. The Company will establish these hours from time to time, and will have sole control of the timing equipment.. The Customer is guaran- teed that the hours of operation permitted wil•1 be sufficient for at least one complete charging every 24 hours. 3. The application of this rate is subject to the approval by the Company of all equipment used II. RATE 1.17c per kwhr. III. MINIMUM CHARGE 1155 $1.15 per month. APPLICABILITY This rate is applicable under the regular terms and conditions of the Company to the total lighting and power service except seasonal service to which standard seasonal rate is applicable of any Customer if taken through a single meter or metering equipment in accordance with the Company's rules and regulations and if the power factor of the total load is 0.85 or higher during all months of the year. 11. III. DETERMINATION OF BILLING LOAD Billing load will be the measured highest 15 -minute kw load during the billing period, however, only connected loads in excess of 5 kw, or where kwhr consumptions indicate connected loads in excess of 5 kw, will be measured. IV. PRASE AND VOLTAGE OF SERVICE Service will be rendered at the Company's standard phase and voltage available at the point, of service. V. METERING If both single phase and three phase service are taken Customer's wiring must terminate at a common metering point in order that service will be measured'by a single meter or metering equipment as required in Section I. VI. MINIMUM CHARGE Minimum monthly charge will be $1.15 plus $1.15 per kw of billing load in excess of 5 kw. The billing load upon which the minimum charge is based will be not less than 25% of the greatest billing load deter- mined in accordance with Section III created during the 12 months ending with the current month. VII. USE OF SERVICE . Electric service furnished under this rate shall not be used by the Customer as an auxiliary or supple- mentary service to engines or other prime movers, or to any other source of power. Customers shall not resell any energy purchased under this rate. 1155
